Yoga Services Menu
Trauma-Sensitive Yoga
Emphasizes choice, invitational language, and body awareness. An evidence-based movement practice. Throughout the practice, choices will be given around movement and sensation. You are the welcome collaborator, as much or as little as you see fit. No experience necessary. Also known as TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga). For more information, visit www.traumasensitiveyoga.com.
Mindful Vinyasa Yoga
Focuses on physical form (asana), mindful movement, breath, and meditation. This type of yoga is often found in Western yoga studios. My style integrates moving energy (vinyasa) with the rhythms of breath and internal states, offerings towards self and universe (bhakti), space for introspection, yogic philosophy, and meditation. Alive, but not rushed. Although this instruction is more verbally directive than trauma-sensitive yoga, you are always the expert on your own body and invited to change, modify, or direct this practice at any time.
Restorative Yoga
Emphasis on being (resting, breathing, surrendering) as opposed to doing. Many people find restorative yoga to be a deeply relaxing antidote to the stresses of life. Props are used heavily. We will remain in poses for much longer than typical yoga sessions, with plenty of space for introspection. Final resting pose (savasana) includes a yoga nidra practice. Although directive instruction will be given, you are always the expert on your own body and invited to change, modify, or direct this practice at any time.
